PremierTec Ultra Clean Magnetic Coupled Mixer

Ultra Clean Magnetic Mixer

Patented Mixer with Levitated Impeller that Can Run Dry

No Minimum Mixing Level = 100% Yield and No Waste

US Patent No. 7,396,153  (International Patent Pending)

PremierTec® offers the latest in magnetic mixing technology with the patented Ultra Clean Magnetic Mixer. As with traditional magnetic mixers, there are permanent magnets inside the body of the impeller. These magnets are magnetically coupled through the bottom of the mixing vessel to the magnets in the drive unit. A seal through the vessel is not required.

The unique design of the Ultra Clean Mixer has made significant advances in the magnetic coupling used to drive the impeller.  In this design, the stronger magnetic coupling causes the impeller to levitate above the guide bearing.  With this levitation, the impeller is actually floating within a strong magnetic field; there is no direct contact between the rotating bearing and the stationary guide bearing.  With this design, the Ultra Clean Mixer is the first mixer that can safely run dry, with no liquid in the tank.  It is levitated by its design, not by the hydraulic lift of the liquid underneath the impeller wings.  Since the impeller stays levitated at all times, even with no liquid or electric energy, it does not need to be stopped to being the CIP (clean-in-place) process.

No Minimum Mixing LevelThe mixer can safely run the entire time the product is draining from the tank.  All product drained is 100% homogenized.

Yield is Maximized in Every Tank.  All product drained is 100% mixed and useable.  There is no minimum amount of un-mixed product to dispose.

No Product Waste.  Every drop drained is mixed product, so no waste is remaining.  Thus, there are no waste disposal costs.  This provides manufacturers the opportunity to Go Green.

MIXER COMPONENTS

Patented Impeller:  The impeller body size and wing size can be specified based on tank size and mixing needs.  Body size options are 3 3/8” and 4 3/4".  Wing size options are 4”-8”.  Shown here is the 4 3/4” body and 8” wings.

US Patent No. 7,396,153

NEW JR Impeller:  The newest Ultra Clean Mixer impeller offers the same benefits of levitation and is designed for lower cost.  This model with 4 wings may not be as gentle to the product nor have the same pumping effect as the 8 wing design, but will still be extremely effective for most applications.  Available in 3 3/8" and 4 3/4" body sizes.

Bearings: The Male Stationary Bearing (guide bearing), sits on top of the weld in plate and is used as a guide for the impeller.  The material is Zirconium Oxide.

The Female bearing (rotating bearing) in the center of the impeller body is Silicone Carbide.

Weld In Plate:  The weld plate is welded into the bottom of the tank.

Drive Unit including Motor, Gearbox, Driving Magnet:  The drive unit mounts to the weld plate on the outside of the tank and houses the driving magnets.

Variable Speed Control Box (AC or DC):  The Allen Bradley control box is available as an option to complete the full mixing solution.

The processing benefits of this industry-changing design are quite numerous:

#1 No Minimum Mixing Level.  The mixer can safely run the entire time the product is draining from the tank.  All product drained is 100% homogenized.

#2 Yield is Maximized in Every Tank:  All product drained is 100% mixed and useable.  There is no minimum amount of un-mixed product to dispose.

#3 No product waste.  Every drop drained is mixed product, so no waste is remaining.  Thus, there are no waste disposal costs.   This provides manufacturers the opportunity to Go Green.

#4 Increased Utilization:  The ability to run dry allows the mixer to run continuously throughout the cleaning process.  The mixer can run safely as last drop of product drains.  CIP and SIP can begin immediately and the mixer does not need to be stopped. The next batch can begin immediately after cleaning cycle.  Again, the mixer does not need to be stopped.  This seamless transition will significantly shorten the cleaning cycle, allowing more product batches to be processed per day.

#5 Easiest Cleaning:  The levitated impeller allows all cleaning solution to move freely between the bearing surfaces, eliminating any residue.  There is significantly less concern regarding contamination and product stagnation.

The capability advances of this patented design are also quite significant:

#1 Friction-less Mixing:  With the levitated impeller and no bearing contact, friction between the bearing surfaces is basically eliminated.  With no friction, there is virtually no speed limitation on the mixer.  There is virtually no bearing wear or damage.

#2 Power Mixing:   The PremierTec® mixer has 8 impeller wings as compared to other 3 or 4 wing designs.   The increased number and improved shape of the impeller wings allows it to handle a larger mixing volume for each size of the drive unit and impeller.  It has a greater pumping effect which allows it to move more product at a lower speed.  It can gently agitate product and keep product in suspension.  It can achieve turbulent mixing.  It is more powerful with less effort and requires less energy consumption.

#3 Versatile Mixing:  The Ultra Clean Mixer has been designed to meet the critical standards of the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries. All product contact surfaces conform to USP Class VI, and are designed to withstand CIP and SIP conditions.  The robust design and the quality of construction also make it highly compatible with the harsh requirements of the Chemical Industry and with the turbulent mixing requirements of the Food and Beverage Industry.
